Billy New is a singer-songerwriter born and raised in historic Charleston, South Carolina.
An entertainer by nature, he is known to play acoustic and electric guitar, the occasional piano, and kazoo and is considered by his wife and choice others to be among the region’s top performers.

Billy has played lead and backup guitar for The Legends and Legacies, a local group featuring popular impersonators of Elvis Presley, Patsy Cline, Willie Nelson, and Neil Diamond. He has also lent his pipes to such bands as Fuzzy Logic, Permanent Vacation, the Cowboy Hat and Flip Flops Tour, and the S.O.O.T. Boys. Many Sundays, Billy can be found breaking hearts and tapping toes on Charleston’s storied Market Street, where locals and blue bloods mingle with tourists and transplants against the oft-humid days and bright, starry nights.

Billy’s musical covers range from Hank Williams to Prince, Louis Armstrong to Jack Johnson, and Jimmy Buffett to Kermit the Frog, and his talent for writing songs rounds out his sets seamlessly. Be sure to catch one of his shows on your next visit to Charleston — he’ll likely be found at the center of that crowd having one heck of a time.
